ROOTED is a powerful 6-week educational program designed to empower vulnerable young people, particularly those in schools, care homes, and prisons by reconnecting them with the rich heritage of African and Caribbean hair and identity. Through interactive workshops, storytelling, and practical hair care sessions, ROOTED explores the deep cultural significance of Afro hair, dismantles harmful beauty standards, and fosters pride in heritage and self-expression.

Our mission is to create safe, inclusive spaces where young people can reclaim their identity, celebrate their roots, and build confidence through knowledge and community. ROOTED is not just about hair, it’s about history, healing, and honouring who we are.
